About The Desert Inn
Our Story
Founded in 1970 by John Shaheen Sr. on 12th Street in Canton, Ohio, Desert Inn has remained a family-owned and operated restaurant for over five decades. In the 1990s, John’s son Mark and his wife Tina took the helm, carrying on his vision and dedication to great food and hospitality. In 2024, the tradition continued as the third generation—Markos and Danielle—took over, ensuring John Shaheen’s legacy lives on.
At Desert Inn, we are committed to serving delicious, high-quality dishes while providing exceptional customer service. Many of our team members have been with us for 20 to 30 years, creating a welcoming atmosphere where you’ll always see a familiar, friendly face. Our experienced staff understands every aspect of the business and shares our passion for hospitality.

It’s not a party without The Desert Inn! We can cater your office or home party. Choose your choice of entrees that come with pans of Grecian salad, rice, broasted potatos, and garlic toast.
