John Shaheen Sr. founded The Desert Inn on 12th Street in Canton, OH in 1970. Ever since, we have been a family-owned and -operated restaurant proudly serving our diners. John’s son, Mark, has been working at the restaurant since he was a teenager, and his wife, Tina, joined our team when she was 18. Today, Mark and Tina own the restaurant, and which they rebuilt at our current location in 2006. They carry on the same commitment of creating delicious dishes and providing exceptional customer service.
Our team also includes Mark and Tina’s sons Joe, our bartender, and Markos, our kitchen manager. Their daughter-in-law Danielle works on our wait staff.
Many members of our team have been working with us for upwards of 20 to 30 years, so you will always see a friendly, familiar face when you dine with us. Our team understands every aspect of the business and is passionate about serving our diners eight days a week!
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are always recommended, especially on weekends. We do take walk-ins as well if we have open seating.
What kind of food do you serve?
We specialize in family-style entrees including kabobs, steaks, seafood, chicken, lamb, and more! Enjoy our wide selection of Arabic appetizers as well!
Do you have any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options?
While our vegan and gluten free options are limited, we do have many vegetarian options.
